The Spirit of the River event was held at Givhans Ferry State Park on Saturday, August 12, 2017. For the second year, FRED partnered with the South Carolina Paddlesports Industry Association (SCPIA) to bring this event to the Ridgeville area of the Edisto watershed.
Music was provided by the Randy Lucas Trio from Columbia, BBQ lunch was served from Dukes of Ridgeville, Sean Poppy and the Savannah River Ecology Laboratory Outreach department provided a wildlife encounter, and a panel discussion of Water Policy Issues affecting the Edisto was featured.
